Andrew concludes successful IMSA Prototype Lites Pre-Season Test at Sebring International Raceways

Bellevue, WA – Young Seattle-based race driver - Andrew Evans – concluded a pre-season test at Sebring International Raceways, driving the ONE Motorsports Elan DP2 Mazda Prototype Lites car. Evans, who turned 18 last month, did a great job handling the very fast prototype racing machine in very tricky conditions as a result of torrential rains that hit the famous Sebring, FL track this week. With only a few hundred miles in the car, he showed the same thoughtful and steady progress that has been a hallmark of his career to date. Evans learned a lot about the car, the team and the daunting track which will lay the ground work for the March 16-18 race event. The test is the first in what is planned to be a season-long commitment to drive the ONE Motorsports car in the entire 7-weekend, 14-race IMSA Mazda Prototype Lites Racing series. Sponsors to date include Spectrum Controls, GoProMotorsports.com, The Formula, Electra Meccanica, Sim to Win and Concorso Italiano., along with private supporters. Several other potential sponsors are being courted to come aboard to enable Evans to contest the entire North American series. “The test was exciting and very important,” said Andrew. “Despite the rain and having to learn the track, I felt like we made good progress and began a rapport with the race engineer and the crew. I am confident that we will make a strong showing in the 2016 Mazda Prototype season.

Former Indy Car Driver Dominic Dobson, a veteran of many types of motorsports in his 20+ year career, is working closely with Evans, the 2014 Pacific F2000 Series Champion, to manage the rising star’s career in motorsport and secure the required funding to fuel Evans progress towards his goals of racing at both the 24 Hours of LeMans and the Indianapolis 500.
